I have a Bichon Frise, and taking him for a walk in the local park after it has been raining nearly always resulted in the 'dipped in chocolate look', and invariably I had to put him in the bath and shower him down, and then wash the walls because he had shaken himself and spattered them. I tried an ordinary wrap-over dog coat, which is warm, but it did not protect his legs and chest and belly, so the result was the same.
So I tried this coat. It is quite expensive, but I thought I would give it a go. I found it easy to put on my dog and zip up, but when I let him run about indoors, the elastic on the front legs was not tight enough, but a few stitches sorted that out. Maybe the makers could consider a velcro fastening instead of elastic.
I used it on a walk for the first time today, and all I can say is....it was definitely worth the money!! The rain had been pouring down, and the paths in the park were muddy. I like to let my dog off the lead to run about, and...

My miniature poodle is a little round in the tummy so gets very muddy on walks. This coat is brilliant and keeps her clean very efficiently. The cuffs are quite tight but she has very skinny legs under the fur so it's no problem.
The only fault (which is a niggle really) is that the fabric is noisy so when she's at speed it sounds like a rain storm!
