Great Product
I bought the Nissan X-Trail dog guard for my 2008 X-Trail Adventure. It was very quick and easy to install and designed and finished well. It arrived quickly and was well packaged.
Travall dog guard for Nissan X Trail
After doing some research and looking for a guard that allowed me to fold the rear seats down when needed without removing the dog guard, I saw that the Travall product had positive reviews and the right features, so that's what I purchased.
I ordered the guard at 08:00 on Tuesday 19th March and to my surprise, it arrived at 14:15 the next day, despite a quoted delivery date of 25th March. Excellent service by Travall and UK Mail. Everything was well packed and the guard came with clear fitting instructions
The guard took me 15 minutes to assemble and fit into my X Trail, with no tools required - it fits really well, with no irritating rattles or movement. Now I can drive without Fern, my free thinking 60lb German Wirehaired Pointer, suddenly deciding she is going to relocate from her bed in the boot to my lap - usually when she is dripping with mud and smelling like the bottom of a pond.
well made but not a very good fit
as my title suggests, the product itself is very well made, and I say that as a former metalworker myself. no poorly finished edges, no misaligned mesh (easy to get this wrong), and excellent quality paintwork. The guard itself fits the hole perfectly; the problem is the side attachments to hold it in place. These comprise two feet and a side brace that go on the sides and sit within the hard plastic window lining; plus two threaded rods which hook into the luggage straps in the boot and then screw to the guard, giving tension. The problem with this is that you can't quite get a good fit in a T31 xtrail, the fixings require the guard to sit slightly too far forward which limits the amount of recline you can have with the back seats. For me this has meant that when my young daughter falls asleep in her car seat, she naturally tips forward which just looks scary. I'm always worried that she'd slip the seatbelt in a crash from this position. Without the guard, and with the rear seat...

TRAVALL TDG1141 - DOG GUARD for NISSAN X-TRAIL (2001- / 2007-) Description
Travall Brand UPPER Dog Guard for fitment to: NISSAN X-TRAIL (2001- / 2007-) - At Travall we consider our dog guards and dividers to be the very best available and far superior to cheaper universal fit dog guards. Travall dog guards and dividers are designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom from high quality steel tubing and welded mesh, using the latest technology engineering processes. The guards are then Nylon powder coated to provide a tough and durable finish that will more than stand the test of time. Travall dog guards and dividers are designed for ease of use and superior strength, each rigorously checked for correct fitment ensuring a perfectly tailored, rattle-free custom fit for every vehicle application. Few realise though that if you were to brake suddenly, or be involved in a collision, any object inside your vehicle which is not secured will move forwards with incredible force. An innocent everyday object such as a drinks bottle or a folding chair can be suddenly transformed into a lethal weapon with potentially disastrous consequences. The laws of inertia don't discriminate between inanimate objects and living beings either, so if you are driving with your dog it is essential that the vehicle is equipped with a securely fitted dog guard to protect both your family and your canine friend should the worst happen. Although you might be initially tempted by the cheaper universal fitting dog guards, they simply do not offer the same strength and resistance to impacts as custom and tailored fit dog guards. Many local authorities now stipulate that estate and mpv type vehicles used as private hire taxis must be fitted with steel load barriers to prevent luggage encroaching into the passenger compartment. Whatever your vehicle... travall in safety, security and style!
