Unfortunately, this product did not deliver on what its intended to do which is to REPEL DOGS. I have tried the product on various dog breeds, of which it did nothing to gain any response whatsover from them. And as humans are unable to hear the sound emitted, I'am therefore unaware of whether the product is in full working order or if it is just useless.I recommend other buyers to look elsewhere.
Battery eater
Maybe I bought a dud but I found this device to be little more than an expensive novelty that gets different results from different animals. I was unable to scare a dog with it but I had some fun with the neigbours cat's ears which kept rotating like radar dishes whenever I pressed the button so it must do something. I found that my unit eats batteries and when they are low the unit emits audible tones within human hearing range and ceratinly not ultrasonic, shame I just couldn't affect the dogs in my area.
Seems to work
I have tried this dog repeller on a few occasions and it seems to work ok. The main response from the dogs I've used it on so far are their ears prick up and they've turned away from me and in most cases run back to their owner. I've noticed you do need to be quite close to the dog for it to work (ideally I'd have liked it to have a longer distance range). It seems to need to be aimed and the button pressed directly pointing at the dog (I tried it though my jacket pocket at close proximity to a dog and it didn't work at all, so I don't think you can use it very discreetly). The size makes is easy to carry in your hand ready to deploy when needed and the wrist strap and belt clip are handy.
