Good design - and it works!
This product really does work. It interrupts the behaviour by emitting either a tone or a short burst of spray (you can chose on the remote controller). The dog stops what it is doing, or about to do, giving you the opportunity to give it a command to redirect it's behaviour.
We have a rescue lurcher whose 'recall' was very poor. (I suspect he had run away in the past, and when he finally returned to his owner he was punished - as a result he has a very negative association with returning when called when he is off lead). He would literally shake with fear when he was finally caught. Along with this he is also very easily spooked and not the sharpest tool in the box! Funnily enough he would happily jump into the car at the end of a walk as this had no negative associations for him. Trouble is it is not always possible to get the car to all the areas where we exercise our dogs.
At one point we seriously considered re-homing him as I am disabled and unable...

Absolute brilliant product. Really does what it is supposed to do.
This product can admit a beep or a spray and after one day do not need to use the spray.The dog just being able to see the collar is enough to keep him under control.I used this to stop dog barking at people when off the lead.
The only negative thing is it a bit awkward to put on the dog as it is a fixed hard collar. Would really have been better if it was a pliable collar.On the plus side it is brilliant not having to buy batteries as the batteries for spray collars are expensive. Recommend this product to anyone.
Excellent product
I had tried 3 different trainers and a behaviourist to try and get my young springer to recall, the last trainer suggested the spray collar which I was loathed to try at first. I decided to order one as it worked out cheaper than the money I was spending at training classes and I have never looked back since! I would definetely recommend this collar as our 11 month old springer recalls perfectly now and within 24 hours of us getting the spray collar we had him off lead in the local park. He loves other dogs and doesnt realise that not all dogs want to play with him - this was a great way to warn him when he sees one - he gets over excited and charges over to play without stopping to see if the other dog is friendly, we rarely have to spray him now and just the tone is enough to stop him in his tracks and bring him back over happily and safely to our sides!
