I did not want to spend much on the dog guard as I was looking after my brother's dog for two weeks. She did not want to stay in the back and kept jumping into the passanger's seat while I was driving. The guard did not fit very well as the roof of the car (VW Golf) is slightly curved. The dog, although small, was able to pull down the adjustable horizontal bars. (They were very slack) We had to try and tie it up with string and tape. Not suitable if to be used long term!!
