I bought this cool pad for my 2 pekingese last year. They LOVE it. They have thick coats and can get too hot even in winter. They use the mat in the day when too hot indoors and to sleep on at night. It is soft unlike the gel mat I tried which one dog would not sit on. They both fit on one small mat as the size is generous.
The product is great for cooling hot dogs especially in the summer and because of this we have taken it with us when we have gone out. We have a dog buggy which we use for long walks and hot weather. We put the mat in and when they get hot they enjoy lying on it to cool down. This has put extra strain on the mat and caused it to split. This is my only negative comment and I am sure if we didn't move it around it would have lasted longer. The other thing to be aware of is that sharp claws or biting puppies could also damage it, so you may need a cover. I would recommend this product but do bear in mind the problems if you want to carry it around.

I have two rotties a GSD and a staffy so opted for large beds. The large bed is huge!!! Easily fit a St. Bernard... so perhaps too much for us. Was a bit put off at first as it has to be filled with a lot of water. 20ltr for the large.
I should point out (as it contradicts another review) this DOES NOT slosh like a water bed!!! If you read the instructions properly you have to wait for 4 hrs for the water to absorb, then you squeeze out excess air. This done then there is absolutely no sloshing. It feels like a firm rubbery bed.
Anyhoo, all the dogs love it. I love it! I'll happily lie with them just to keep cool :)
Only problem: if you want to move the bed all the time, think about how much 20 ltrs of water weighs. It is A LOT, and i don't advise dragging it here there and everywhere.
I've decided to get a couple of small beds to take to shows, so even if the dogs can't lie completely on it, they will always have a cool area :)

brilliant idea but unfortunatly not dog proof, this product was my dogs favorate thing for 48hrs untill it split at the seams and was therfore ruined - this needs to be made from much stronger material for the idea to work. I feel Ive wasted my money on this occasion
