Good boot but ...
This boot fits really well and compared to other makers' boots, is easy to get onto the paw. However, just as with all the other boots we have tried, they don't stay on when our border collie is at full throttle, and because of the two straps, it is difficult to apply tape to boot and leg in an attempt to keep the boot on longer. Around the house and for walking the boot is good.
Awesome product that keeps up with a very active Border Collie
I bought this to help protect my border collie's foot so we could still exercise him while his cut paw was healing. He's VERY high energy and just an absolute madman when let loose in the park or on hikes so I assumed we'd have to some how rig this boot to help keep it on. Not to worry though as despite his antics on the recent weekend hike (including in and out of the loch swimming, running topspeed through muddy fields, leaping off rocks, attempting to climb trees, running up and down a waterfall and scaling the corresponding embankment), the boot stayed on, kept his foot clean, and protected it well. We couldnt be happier with it and will definitely be continuing to use and recommend it.
Perfect for our spaniel
Our spaniel badly cut it's paw on glass and needed multiple stitches. Due to the nature of the wound, this will take a couple of months to heal and there's no way a spaniel will take 'light' exercise.
We had a lace up boot, but it wasn't waterproof (and it's not been a dry summer so far), it had a soft sole (not great for an area with lots of rocks along the path) and the dog kept chewing the laces and pulling it off (before ripping the bandages off and needing another trip to the vet!).
This pair of boots has been brilliant:
+ Comes as a pair so you can keep swapping to wash/dry the dirty boot.
+ has good velcro strap that doesn't stick out so dog doesn't try to chew
+ waterproof sole so can take out in damp conditions without worrying
+ solid sole with good grip so more protection for the pad
+ dog seems to find it very comfortable and doesn't worry it
Three negatives:
- it's not completely waterproof so...
