Is it the Staywell or is it my dog ?
Had the staywell for my previous dog (medium yorkie) and it worked well. It stood dorment for a year between dogs.My new dog (welsh terrier,same size as yorkie but more boystrous)wrecked it within a fortnite,she broke the perspex bit and the outer flap. I put it down to it being a couple of years old and maybe brittle.I bought another one and reinforced it before installing but it only lasted a couple of weeks.Yet again the outside flap broke right at the top near the hinge.I feel that there isn't enough "meat" at the top near the hinge otherwise it's fine.Would suit an older (slower) dog or a cat.

You get your money's worth
Having had one of these for my partner's cat, both my dog and his cat charge in and out of the catflap version, had it at least 2 years and no sign of wear and tear, brilliant for the pets needs.

So having moved I purchased the dog version, my jack russell x does like to run, rather than walk through these cat/dog flaps, it does what it says on the box.

v. good instructions with size chart to work with.

If you follow the instructions and follow correctly, there is no reason for it not to last.

would i buy another, yes if i moved, but not planning to move for a very long time, but i would recommend this product each and every time, never had a problem with it.

Poor Quality Staywell Dog Flap
Correct naming of this product STAY WELL clear of this product.

I have purchased 2 of these dog flaps the 740 (medium), within 4 years and on both occassions they have broken easily. The outer plastic rim which stops the draft coming in is fragile to say the least and on further investigation this appears to be a common problem. Upon contacting Staywell customer servkces, directly I was told that they are aware of this problem, but not prepared to replace it unless I had proof of purchase. Unfortunately I could not produce one so had to buy a spare part
