My 18 year old cat was diagnosed with chronic renal failure in may 2011, his kidney function was 20% and I was very worried about him, he was prescribed tablets and renal cat food, which he hated, so he lost weight which is bad for a sick cat! I saw this stuff and thought anything was worth a try I added it to his usual food, which he loved, it has no taste so a fussy cat will never notice, hes put on weight and is sleek and looks so much better, he does like his special renal dry cat food, but I think you could probably mix it with that too, he gets his twice a day with a pouch food, eats it up with no problems, he still drinks quite a lot of water, and I give him vitamins as my vet said it can deplete the vitamin content of his food, he gets his pills cruhed up in a vitamin paste and spread on his legs, I dont know how much longer he will last, but he gets three monthly check ups and so far so good, the vet is pleased with him anyway, so buy it and your cat can have his usual food,...
Good value for this product
My vet put our cat on this. They want literally twice as much for the same product, same size. Thank-goodness I don't have to buy it from my vet! Our cat eats this mixed in his usual food no problem. Does it make a difference to his health, given he is in renal failure? I can't know for sure but he is brighter and eating better. I am happy to keep him on it.
