This is an excellent training aid when it works but it took three replacements to get the collar receiver to work. It is extremely effective so it seldom needs to be activated. I use it mostly in the bleep mode and very occasionally in the vibrating mode: exceptionally in the electric mode. All have an instantaneous effect.
Apart from that my criticism of the product is:
a The method of attaching the receiver to the collar is not secure enough. I would have lost it several times if (warned by a previous reviewer) I had not made a secondary safety attachment for it.
b There is no indication that the battery is getting low and it is distressing for the dog if the battery low warning bleeps unexpectedly.
c. There is no indication of what the red and green lights on the receiver mean - they seem to illuminate at random. If they were to indicate battery state it would help.
That said, I would recommend the product to anyone having difficulty...
