I bought some of this Vetbed Gold for Megan our Welsh Springer Spaniel when we first had her as an 8week old puppy nearly 5years ago. It gets washed EVERY week - sometimes twice a week - or even more frequently during the Winter Months - and incredibly it is still going - although admittedly it is now not quite as thick as it was originally! It is brilliant for drying damp dogs off after a walk - and it seems to take the dirt off too. It keeps Megan warm in the Winter - but somehow it's not too warm for her in the Summer. I HIGHLY recommend this product to ANY dog owner - as it just lasts and lasts and lasts! (By the way - I have kept the older part in case we ever have more puppies!!)
