I bought this lead as a replacement for an expensive leather version on which the metal clip had failed. This type of training lead is ideal for use with medium to large dogs and allows you to adjust the length very quickly and easily for training/walking purposes (why this style of lead was developed and is used by the Police). The other main advantage is that when your dog is off the lead you can slip the lead over your shoulder and carry bandolier fashion leaving both hands free and avoiding losing the lead by it falling out of a pocket etc. I have two dogs and find it easier to clip them onto their leads while the leads are over my shoulder, I then simply slip the leads off my shoulder into my hands with the dogs already secure.
