That was their own fault for not reading properly, and more-over I believe the seller and packager of the kit has more advanced packs that contain those items at an appropriate cost.
To the point, yesterday, my Border Collie bitch went into labour, there were several complications and the delivery of 3 pups took a total of 12 hours. I'd had both of my parents who have bred dogs in the past tell me that it "wouldn't be needed" and that it was a waste money. I tracked my girl's temperature over the course of a week with the provided thermometer (sanitiser helped clean it too) so I had a good warning before she went into labour.
