Chilled out puppies
I first saw this product in an in-flight magazine en route to the USA. When I got back home I searched high and low for them here. I have 2 dogs, one of whom is disabled, with a crippled foreleg. She gets very easily overheated at any time of year, but especially in the summer. She also needs a cushioned surface to lie on to protect her joints from more damage. She took to the first cooler like a duck to water; no messing! My other dog has never known anything else; he was raised with them from being a tiny pup - he is particularly grateful for his cooler at the end of a long day at a dog show, or after a good long walk. I now have 4 coolers - 2 in the travel crates and 2 in the house. At dog shows I take a cool bag and put the spare coolers in there so they have cool coolers when we return to the car at the end of the day.

Not bad but nothing spectacular
I bought this mat for my English bull terrier who suffers with the heat - bad heart, arthritis etc., in the hope that it would a) stop her hurling herself down on the concrete floor so b) would ease her bones a bit. I activated it by-the-book with the specified litres of warm water and left it for 4 hours. After the designated time it was still like a water bed so we left it a little longer thinking the sponge needed a more time. However, after 48 hours it was still totally water logged and we had to lug it onto the lawn to remove about 2 litres before we sealed it up and 'rolled' the air bubbles out. The illustrations in the instruction manual make the mat look a lot 'fatter' than it really is and I found myself Googling images of the finished article to make sure that what we were left with was right - it comes up thinner than you think. It's taken about 2 weeks for her to use it (it smells very strongly of plastic) but she's finally laying on it. This is a product that would...

If it's very humid he sleeps on the chillow directly , if it's cooler outside, he sleeps on the chillow, but with a towel over the top of it. It has really made a huge differenceas he was panting & obviously very uncomfortable at night & now he sleeps more soundly for longer. Am thinking of getting a smaller one for myself.
