I bought this product for my mother who has foreign cats coming into her house and spraying everywhere. The black light is brilliant in showing her where the urine is, making it easier for her to find and then to clean and eliminate the smell of cat-pee.
Works if stain is dry
I read the various reviews of these products and noted the negative reviews from people who had tested them on recently produced 'puddles' - then it occurred to me that the stain probably needs to be in crystalline form in order to fluoresce in UV light. I won't go into details of my testing procedure (we have an elderly and confused cat) but the results seem to bear out the theory - it works fine on dried urine. It even showed where I had missed a small patch by the skirting board when using the carpet washer.
That said, it appears rather flimsy.

Although I read a few negative reports about this item I decided to give it a try. It is very good..darken the room as much as possible, obviously night time is best, the offending areas will show up as varying shades of yellow depending on the surface. We had a neighbouring cat "visiting" via our cat flap and couldn't find where he had 'tiddled'!!!! This light solved the problem immediately and I highly recommend it!! 10 out of 10
