I thought this was going to be a plastic 'secondary' collar that you put around the dog's neck for night walks but it's a proper woven nylon affair that's about an inch wide and is suitable for continuous use. It easily fits my border collie. At the moment I can't comment on battery life or whether the battery compartment is 'swimproof'. I'll update later if there are any problems.
