Worked in the end!
I bought this trap after seeing a mouse scurrying across my room at three o'clock one morning. At first I was somewhat disappointed when it didn't seem to work. There was one point where it had snapped shut but with no mouse in it! The mouse seemed to go away of its own accord in the end, but I left the trap out as perhaps the mouse had a close shave and the trap was acting as a deterrent.
However, after the little pest had returned a few months later, I laid the trap down in a new position in my room and this time I returned home to find it had successfully killed the mouse, whereas the two new traps of a different brand I had bought had somehow let the mouse get the bait without catching it.
Disposing of the dead mouse was a bit gross as it had stuck to the trap so I had to yank it off by its tail (so make sure you have some disposable gloves handy).
