"Got this to encourage our cat to stop disturbing us on cold winter nights. The pad is also sold separately and is well reviewed but for whatever reason the cat hasn't taken to the bed. The base of the bed is very padded and the heat doesn't seem to reach through unless we turn it pad side up (which is less cosy). Even then the cat hasn't taken to it.
Will now try the pad separately and re-review if the results change. But right now I'd recommend getting the pad alone."
Further to above review the cat did finally start to use it and to that extent it has been great. However, did have to place heat mat on top of the padded bed base, so recomendation to get pad alone probably still stands.
Charlie is delighted
This pet bed was purchased for an elderly cat [20 human years old] Initially he did not take to it [I think the colour pink was not masculine enough] but once we had seperated the heat pad from the bed he loves it. It may be better if it can instatnly be felt as warm instead of having to have presure on it before it feels warm. Having said that it was the best one around insomuch as it is flexible, others i have seen have been thick and ridgid and therefore not the softest to lie on, all in all a great product. Charlie only leaves his bed for necessities now. Realy pleased with it.
Gorgeous Bed
I bought this bed for my cat and he's very snug in it, curling up against the high sides. It's really soft and plush with a nice padded base. I've tested the heat pad which gives some warmth, but is naturally much warmer out of the cover. However, the cat hasn't tested it as yet (which is why I held back on the 5 stars). A lovely quality product fit for posh animals!
