I was very sceptical that something that you can't hear would work - especially as it cost almost thirty quid - but such is my fear that I bought it and took it to the Algarve with me for the first half of November 2010.

It worked! Any time that we were out walking during the fortnight I had it very close at hand - like IN my hand! - but only felt the need to use it in anger/fear once. We didn't meet up with any of those aggressive dogs but met several barkers and without exception each of them either stopped barking and stood in amazement, or stopped and backed off a little and, in one case, turned and slunk off.

I'll certainly be taking it with me on any future walks or 'at risk' ventures...

Worse Than Useless
Do not buy this product it is worse than useless.
This item has not been droped or abused in any way, I have only just recieved it,the LED light that tells you that the Dazer is working comes on brightly and it still has no effect on dogs what so ever. I used it when threatened by a pair of dogs while cycling and was lucky not to be bitten. I got a friend to experiment on his own dog from various distances (not recomended in the instructions) and there was no reaction even with the Dazer inches from the dog. He did say though that his chickens did seem to notice something.
Either this product is useless right from the factory door or is so delicate that it wont survive the journey to you in the post. Either way it's rubbish.

Works a treat
The dogs next door never bark anymore since I used the Dazer on them. In fact when they now see me they run for cover! It's a pity it doesn't work over a longer distance but it has worked very well for me.
