Bought this brush as a trial; my dog is actually a Labrador x Golden Retriever, but due to the Goldie in him he has a lot of undercoat, and most brushes aren't very effective at shifting it. I've used a Furminator, which is effective, but find that tedious due to constantly having to pull off the hair that gets caught in it. Also they're harsher to the skin, can't be used too often in the same area.
I'm on my second of these Ancol brushes now, as I lost the first one, and it's amazing. Shifts a LOT of hair, is comfortable to use, and as the pins are blunt it doesn't seem to damage the skin; only needs to be used gently to be effective, and the pins also have 'give' in them due to the way they attach to the flexible pad.
This brush is so comfortable to use that I'm now in the habit of brushing daily, my dog loves it and I get far less hair out of him each time as it doesn't build up. After using this brush daily for about a week I tried a Furminator again, and...
