They can also be put in the freezer so that it takes your dog longer to lick out the filling. One of the best toys on the market, a little expensive but worth every penny spent on it.
Tough, hardwearing and entertaining
I bought this medium sized Kong for my dog when she was just four months old. She is now almost eleven months and despite daily use it still looks as good as new.
I fill it either with some peanut butter or mashed banana and freeze it overnight. When I need to go out for a while I get this out of the freezer and it is obvious she doesn't care that I'm leaving, she just wants to get hold of her Kong. Because the treat inside has been frozen it takes her ages to get it all out. She is never left for more than a couple of hours but the Kong is always perfectly clean by the time I return and she is pretty much guaranteed to be sleeping when I get back in.
Although she does get the majority of the frozen treat out because there are a couple of ridges on the inside where the shape of the Kong has been moulded, sometimes some bits of peanut butter get stuck into the grooves. So it does need to be washed out carefully before filling it with more treats just to ensure...
