Despite the comments regarding construction, it is not that difficult and following the instructions on the box I had it assembled and fitted in 10 minutes. What is good about it? It is a universal guard and easily fitted to our Landrover Freelander (which the Halfords Model was not capable of)and could be adapted to many more models with ease. WHat's bad? Fairly cheap construction, with lots of plastic parts which you can see will break over time: you know the things, brittle like bakelite, if you are old enough to remember that substance!
My major gripe? Mine came out of the box rusty and whether it was due to the bolts rusting in transit from somewhere in the Far East or what, the whole construction was covered in a veneer of rust, which I cleaned off but not before I was covered in it. One other thing, mine had no mesh and therefore the item was not as advertised
Can I recommend it? Again a yes and no. It is the only cheap dog guard I have found that...

The final assembled product is great and well worth the money and found this mesh design far stronger than the tubular bars. However, the assembly instructions were very poor and you will need a certain amount of common sense to complete the job.
