I bought this as a last resort for an extremely boistrous large 11 month old labrador who was pretty much out of control. To cut a long story short I only needed to use the shock function about three times when he was about to do the things I didn't want him to do (go running off after a sheep/chicken etc) for him to get the message: its that fast! Afterwards I set it on vibrate on level 10 which he hated just as much as being shocked and we kept it on that for a few weeks, now I have him on the beeper function only and in actual fact he only has to be shown the remote control as we go out the door now and he's a good boy the whole time we are out, it really is like having a different dog! Initially he seemed upset and I felt bad about using the collar but knew it was my only chance of reigning him in and saving his bacon as he had begun receiving death threats from the ownwers of the chickens he was bringing home! Great Customer Service
I purchased this item to stop my dog chasing birds and the collar worked great until 14 December when it malfunctioned,this was reported to easypet during the Christmas period and on Sunday January 6th the owner of easypet took the trouble to phone me at home to discuss the problem and resolve the issue by sending me a replacment collar the next day. Customer Service the way it used to be. I cannot praise the service enough.
Works like magic
I ordered this because my young dog ran off while out on a walk and got himself lost. He ended up running across a road and into someone's garden. When I call him he nearly always comes but when we are out in the woods the distractions are just too great for him and he doesn't always 'hear' me. We only used the shock option twice but it certainly did the trick. You just have to make sure that he doesn't think you are doing it to him so no shouting or angry voices..lots of happy, exciting, reassuring, comforting commands/words (and a treat or two!). We now take him out off the lead and have it on the vibrate option. I don't have to press the button very often at all. Dog walks are much more relaxing!
Worth every penny. Am very very pleased. Would highly recommend.
